Coding Board Game Exposition 2019

In my 8th grade coding class, students had a marking period long assignment to create coded board games using Ozo Bots (small robots that are coded through reading a series of colors). Today, the 8th grade art class that runs during the same period as 8th grade coding collaborated with us. In mixed groups of four, students spent 4 minutes at each station and tested out each game.

The goal was to give feedback to the game creators to help them in the process of programming their games. Just as real computer scientists do, students understood the importance of testing out codes and programs to ensure they work repeatedly before completing a product. Although the marking period is rapidly coming to a close, students will have an opportunity to reflect on the feedback and what they could potentially have improved upon. xoxo
