Hosting My First Author Visit

Today I was fortunate enough to host my first author visit as a library/media specialist. My school welcomed author Katherine Arden to discuss her new novel "Small Spaces" with the 5th and 6th graders and also talk about what it is like to be an author. I was able to hold author committee meetings the week prior to the visit where students made a banner and parking signs to welcome our guest. The students asked many thoughtful questions after hearing excerpts of "Small Spaces" and many pre-ordered copies through the local bookstore who helped organize the visit. Hopefully, this is the first of many author visits at CDW!
