Publishing Party Campfire

To celebrate wrapping up our science fiction writing workshop unit, this past week my fourth graders and I had a campfire. Our SMARTboard had transformed into a backdrop of a tent under stars, we had a fire going (of the cardboard kind), and the person reading got to roast marshmallows (hold a talking stick made out of a branch and marshmallow). Sitting around our carpet, I could feel each student's pride in their work. What a great way to celebrate the end of a unit! xoxo
