An abundance of popsicle sticks...

As August and my new teacher orientation packet have both reached me, I decided it was time to (briefly) kick off my flip-flops and take one small step in planning for the upcoming school year. At the end of the last school year, I inherited a box of popsicle stick counters from another teacher who was throwing them away.

I had just won the teacher lottery.

I knew immediately I would give these popsicle stick counters a makeover and turn them into equity sticks, for when I need to choose a student for a task, give an answer, or use the SMART board.

With a package of rubber bands handy, it took me all of 15 minutes to count off 21 popsicle sticks ( a good, round number) into neat little bundles to last me a while and share with other fellow teachers. 514 popsicle sticks later...
